trip journal
an afternoon/evening in asakusa
by dave huseman •

one of those rare days in tokyo that wasn't completely focused on food. we spent the early afternoon wandering through asakusa (a must do if you have a free morning or afternoon in tokyo) popping in and out of alleyways, stopping or a beer (or two) in a tiny korean restaurant tucked away and almost hidden..
the highlight of our night was a tiny show at asakusa kaguwa — part cabaret, part comedy, part "what the hell are we watching?" in the best way possible.
if you're curious, this is the place:

most of the crowd was foreigners, but the energy was great, the performers and staff were warm and friending..

would we go again? absolutely. highly recommend if you're in tokyo and want something weird and wonderful for a night out. #tokyo #asakusa #winter2025
